Russ Allegrette is a Principal and Co-Founder of Ocean West Capital Partners, a real estate investment and operating company headquartered in Los Angeles. Since its founding in 2009, Ocean West has completed over $6.0 billion of commercial real estate transactions and has overseen a portfolio of 10 million square feet of office and industrial projects as well as approximately 5,000 student housing beds and 1,000 apartment units.
The firm invests with both national and international clients and is active in all facets of property ownership, including property management, asset management, construction management, and capital markets.
Before joining Ocean West, Mr. Allegrette was the President of Maguire Investments, where he was responsible for the oversight of a 5 million square foot real estate portfolio consisting of office, retail, and hotel uses.
Prior to joining Maguire Investments, Mr. Allegrette was a Managing Director at Eastdil Secured where he was responsible for debt placement and loan sales. In this capacity, Mr. Allegrette placed over $20 billion of commercial real estate loans, sold more than $3 billion of mortgage and mezzanine paper, and participated in a variety of M&A and recapitalization transactions.
Mr. Allegrette is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame, receiving a Bachelor of Business Degree with a concentration in finance.
Phil Choi is a Principal and Co-Founder of Ocean West Capital Partners. Since inception, Ocean West has completed over $6.0 billion of commercial real estate transactions and has overseen a portfolio of 10 million square feet of office and industrial projects as well as student housing. Before joining Ocean West, Mr. Choi was the Vice President of Maguire Investments, which owned and operated 5 million square foot real estate portfolio consisting of office, hotel, and Fixed Base Operators. Prior to joining Maguire Investments, Mr. Choi was a Senior Associate at Eastdil Secured where he was engaged in over $7 billion of commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, financing, and joint-venture formations.
Mr. Choi is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley, receiving a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics.
Ted Bischak is a Principal and Co-Founder of Ocean West Capital Partners. He is responsible for all Property Operations including, Asset Management, Property Management, Construction Management and Physical Due Diligence, upon acquisition or disposition, of managed assets.
Prior to the formation of Ocean West Capital Partners, he was Senior Vice President of Asset Management for Maguire Properties, responsible for the firm’s entire portfolio of 21 million square feet of real estate assets.
Before joining Maguire Properties, Mr. Bischak served as Senior Vice President for CommonWealth Partners, where, in partnership with the CalPERS pension fund, he was responsible for all operations activities, including in-house property management, tenant improvement, operational leasing, and asset management for the $1.5 billion portfolio and directed all property-level acquisition and disposition activities.
Additionally, Mr. Bischak has held senior management positions with Tooley & Company and The Irvine Company, where he was a key member of the development team on over 6 million square feet of new office development product, multiple retail, and hotel projects as well as 6,000 apartment units over his 35-year career in commercial real estate.
Ryan Tucker is a Principal with Ocean West Capital Partners and oversees Ocean West’s capital markets activities including new acquisitions, financings, and dispositions. Since joining the company in 2010, Ocean West has completed over $3.7 billion of acquisitions of office, industrial, multifamily and student housing properties throughout the country.
Prior to joining Ocean West, Mr. Tucker was an Acquisitions Associate at Cornerstone Real Estate Advisers (now Barings), the real estate investment subsidiary of MassMutual Life Insurance Company, where he was responsible for sourcing new acquisitions of various property types including office, apartment, and industrial properties. Prior to Cornerstone Real Estate Advisers, Mr. Tucker was an Assistant Vice President with Nomura Securities where he was involved in the origination of over $5 billion of new commercial real estate loans across numerous property types.
Mr. Tucker is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley and received his Master of Business Administration from the University of California at Los Angeles.
